beginner ww boat

Post by zappaddles »

Looking for a good advanced beginner ww boat as a gift. As the recepient is young, smart, atheletic, has incredible balance (former gymnast) and already paddles an Explorer I believe the learning curve will be very short for him so I don't want to start him off in a true beginners boat. I have a line on a Probe 12 at a reasonable price. Any thoughts on that boat or any other potential boat(s) is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Vince,
I PM'd you a couple of days ago, but not sure if you got it.
I have a Esquif Detonator that I am willing to sell that may work out good for him. I really need to unload this boat as I just bought a 1974 Bluehole OCA with some exceptional wood work that was done on the gunnels. Give me a call if you are interested

How tall is he and much does he weigh? From your description, you might want to go a bit smaller and sportier than a Probe 12. A Detonator perhaps, depending on the size of the person.
