C1 conversion

Post by telemarkfreak »

I have several questions for you folks:

Chad: What is the difference between your previous GUS and the Karnali that you have now?

Is there a company that makes c1 conversion outfitting somewhere?

Those creeking c1 conversion really make me want to buy one, I paddle a Atom c1 at the moment, what are your suggestions?

If you get a creek boat you can take the pedestal from your atom and convert the boat that way. Or get a rail of some sort and build your own. You can get empty shells from liquidlogic and maybe pyrahna. I do mine with the dagger outfitting from a broken cascade (same outfitting as the atom)
Pics of my outfitting are here. I got kinda crazy with the quick release system which I like but is not mandatory

Try using the search function of this sight and you can find lots of different outfitting options. Also look for bernie style outfitting. Bernie builds nice outfitting you can find him on this sight through the search function

Hi Francois.

I'm around mtrl you are welcome to jump in my Remix for a test drive if we ever come across each other...

Many good boats around... You like edgy (burn) half-edges (karnali, remix, etc) or round hull (jefe, etc).

The only cie that makes decent C1 outfit and C1 ready plastic conversions is the (new) big dog cie... They look pretty cool but I have no idea who would distribute them around here... Robson boats are also hard to find around here and I didn't heard only good things about their outfit type stuff. The dagger console in your atom is nice and can be transferred in another boat in minutes; those are a rare grab these days! For those who like straps outfit at least.
Watch out; that river has rocks on the bottom. :o

Actually I like really well my Atom, it is fast and very edgy, it stops in any tiny eddy and moves really great, that is why I would like to keep the pedestal from the Atom where it is! On the other hand, it is not what you call a creek boat, I'm kind of concerned using my Atom in ledges and falls. Thanks for the invitation about testing the remix, I have one friend over here who's got one, I will give it a try. I like edgy and fast boats, but is it a suitable feature to have in creeks? The boat on the link has a beautiful outfit, it will be my model for sure! I got to find and old pedestal!!

if you go with a liquidlogic bot you can use their center rail to build your outfitting off of ie strap connection
this is what bernie does.
The dagger pedestals are def rare these days, but your atom will prob crack sometime soon  so you will have a pedestal to use.
really just get creative and you can figure something out that will work for outfitting. Again search this site and you will see alot of differnt outfitting options.
