Solo whitewater open canoe of mysterious origin - BOAT SOLD!

Post by ericp »

Kevlar layup, aluminum rails & thwarts, minicell saddle, vinyl airbags, thigh straps, good rocker, stable and predictable, 13 feet long, 29 inches wide. Hull in good condition. I am not sure of who made this boat. I bought it used a while ago for my girlfriend when she first started paddling, she has moved on to new and better boats. We now have too many boats in the basement! Photos at: http://paddlenow.com/album/soloblue.html

$350, Philadelphia area.

Is that a seam line in he middle, running from gunwale to gunwale?

How about a serial number plate?

There is no seam up the middle. The layup kevlar inside the boat runs from end to end. The boat has a gel coat, and that line appears to be from the mold, which was probably made in two pieces.

There is no name plate or serial number. I bought the boat from Stark-Moon canoe in Delta, PA. I use it as a backup boat once a year for a training course. Some people have told me that the hull was made using a John Sweet mold, but I cannot confirm that.

It is actually a very forgiving boat with no bad habits, a good beginner's canoe. It is easy for a student to lean way over and bring back up under control.
