just curious

Post by Kaz »

Hi,
Amuse me.
If there was an IGNITOR available in ABS, would people buy it?
If there was a ZOOM available in composite, would you buy it?
Just curious, nothing else to do.
I didn't say abuse me.

What you and Jacques up to? The Ignitor is a great boat the way it is... I don't know that adding 15+lbs? would benefit it. How about making a shorter version and calling it the "match". I seem to remember an ABS Edge which by all accounts sucked... then came the Ocoee... boom.. smilin' faces and lot's of sales.

All of this nonsense from a person who spent 99% of last season in a 7ft. Rotomolded OC...

(I just spent a half hour out in 15 degree weather grilling ribs just so my wife can throw them in the crockpot.... how's that for killing time)

I'd look at it at least. The only picture I've seen is the one from this site, but I like the looks of the turned up nose. I creek in Prophets now, and really like the rocker in the front.

COmposite Zoom

Post by NZMatt »

Hiya Kaz

Not saying I'd be able to buy one, but I would atleast be interested in either a Zoom or Phantom in composite. Still haven't had a chance to paddle the Zoom, but definitely one of the two boats I'm most considering for my next OC1, based on what I've heard. 'Course I can't make a decision between the two until I paddle it....

I would not be interested. I am saving up for another composite boat from you, but I the thought of lugging around an ABS boat no longer appeals to me.

Hi Kaz,

I am not sure about the composite Zoom, the way I abuse my boats :o , Polyethylene would be more appropriate.

However if the ABS Ignitor would be suitable as a OC2 river runner I might definitely be interested, as I am thinking of buying some sort of whitewater tandem boat sometime in the future  .

Hi,
The ABS "Ignitor" being manufactured by Esquif will be available to paddle at Slalom Nationals in Montana on July 9, 10, 11. This will be it'e debut. We might call it something else but for now "Ignitor" works. It is 11'8" long, and is designed to behave similar to the composite "Ignitor". There will be 3 or 4 boats available to try out, courtesy of Jacques.
