May 22-23

Post by sbroam »

I'm really pulling for May 22-23 because I can't come on April 24-25. However, I'm wondering if camping on a later date will be more of a concern than in past years - last year and the year before were a bit earlier in the season and therefor possibly a bit colder (rainier, too!). Will there be more competition from non-Armadans for nearby sites, esp the sites on the Savage? Do we need to think about other arrangements, i.e. some place that takes reservations?

Sorry, but I have to pull for April 24-25, because I can't make it on May 22-23 :-? . I would really like to attend the Armada and meet and paddle with all those great people I only communicate with through this board 8) .

This simply means we need a Concordia in June as well as the Armada in April or May :D

I voted

Post by Mike W. »

I voted for May 22 & 23. April 24 is the Neuse River Rally & we've got to defend our title.

I can bring:
Viper - full cut
Cascade
Big EZ
Probe 11

updated boat list

Post by Mike W. »

I went to spring splash last weekend. I traded, bought & sold boats. I can no longer bring the Cascade or Probe. The new list of boats follows:
Viper - full cut
Big EZ
Perception Amp

I bought a 1/2" cut Acrobat :D , but need to spend some time in it before I go off & try to paddle it all day :-? . This sucker's gonna teach me a lesson or two  .

I'm taking off work Thursday & Friday. I'd like to drive up Thursday & paddle something Friday, the 21st.

Congrats on your Acro! What color is it?! One of these day's I'd like to get some images so we can all compare acrobats and cuts....

Also, were there any other Acro's there for sale? There are two or three folks who have contacted me looking for Acros in the past few months....

It's green, blue & white with various drippings on the deck & a black hull. It's Mel's old boat. Photos are already on this site. Metalflake is COOL :D !

It was not for sale when I got there. He was just going to let me try it. I had a ball playing at surfers & was somehow able to sink it to my chest. The only squirt boat that I saw at the sale was a k-1.

I'm going to the river this afternoon & try to get used to it  . I'm not comfortable on the bow...yet :o ! It's way different than anything I've ever paddled before.
