Full,
For all your class V yabbering, you don't seem to get much about open boating or open boaters, as RodeoClown and others have articulated well. Keep your respect from kayakers, you can have it, and keep hangin' with them. I'm not surprised that you find more like-minded paddlers in the 'yaker circles - and I'll bet you have to change those paddling buddies frequently too (and not just because nobody can keep up with your super-fast charge to bigger-and-better - it seems there's always lots of new, gutsy kayakers who will share your attitude).
Strange that for a guy who's so hyped on converting the world to open-boat whitewater, you'll end up only paddling with crazy kayakers. Even though you disrespect their boats and their abilities - becasue they have braces on both sides - and that when you frequently flip to your on-side. It's a funny world.
Try for a little more grace and little less glory (in your boating, your video and your posts).
Oh yeah, sorry, anybody who isn't dropping class V chutes into pools has nothing to say to you since you're already a Jedi at anything we can do (including C-1ing and squirtboating and other things you dis but haven't tried: we don't get you, but you can trash everyone, do I have it right?). So, maybe you'll just quit posting so much, and we can skip the constant play-by-play of your awesomeness and wait to see you in the Green Race.
I'm going to go watch more of Milkman's great videos...

that was a good video that milk man just put up.
and long boatin - that wasn't me at the falls race. I was up in the adirondacks during it. I think you are refering to my buddy Justin... who ran it twice that weekend, and swam both attempts.... to only go back this past weekend, and finally stuck it... "if at first you do not succeed, try, try, try again"....or wait...maybe he should have ran a class II waterfall(3ft)?
Pat - I know waht the majority of open boaters are about. Like i said before, I am a very different breed - and I probably do fit in better with yakers. And usually have a great time with whoever, no matter what they paddle.
Ya'll don't have to like me... don't have to read my post, and don't have to watch the video. But Imma keep doing what I do. If i was trying to 'impress' you pat... all I would have to do is get some video running some sick nasty class III! and hit some sick nasty class III eddys! ...but like i said, that's not my objective here.
I'm all about challenging myself physically and mentally. and I have found my match. Working to stomp it 100% of the time. It will come.

Yeah, I do - youth and seemingly endless amounts of time for one thing - you give'r Boy Wonder! As long as you don't get hurt, I like what you're doing, I just hate the way you talk about it. But you're right, of course, I'm too easily offended and we don't have to read your posts or watch your vids, and so maybe I won't (respond to your absurd posts that is, of course I'll watch carnage video!).
Aside from me being home sick & grumpy, I think there's a west-east thing going on too - out west we have lots of continuous, icy-cold boulder gardens, where paddling a solid class III river can be daunting and require lots of skill & confidence. By contrast there's people out east in warm-water who will plop over some "class IV" waterfall into a pool and consider themselves a class IV boater. Some of your vid falls into that, however fullgnarlz it looks, and is, it'll end in a pool in about 5 seconds. I'll say there's more consequences to the continuous class III-IV here than there is to some of the "gnarly" IV-V falls and stuff there. I'm sure that's a debate that's been around on this forum before!
That's where I'm coming from on my interest in seeing you link moves in continuous class III-IV. I've seen that you have the balls to do big nasty drops (and roll up in the pool at the bottom) - it's not your guts that are being questioned. But I haven't seen you actually paddle your boat on anything that requires impressive skills, I just see you ride it & roll it.
And I still want to see the video of you in a C-1 playboat in that class III "boogie water" too, since anything with a skirt is soo easy. That's where people get irked man, your lack of experience in anything but your boat and your rivers doesn't keep you from making crazy-arrogant statements about pretty much anything.
I hope your youth lasts!

Yeah, yeah. Equipped with the stones.. classic. OK, I can pretend to be 12. My stones are sooo big that when I dip em in the river, they make an eddy even YOU could catch. But I do prefer to keep them dry, or well, warm at least, so I have no intentions of showing you my stones. I mean, you say you're an OCer, but you hang with butt boaters all the time.
There, did that make you feel better? I outgrew the whole mine is bigger than yours thing a long time ago. You can be flotsam on any water you want, no skin off my back.

hahahah. thats good.
pool drop is easier to tape pat. Continious is fun too. this has just been a couple weeks of Class V drops - which is the stuff i've been putting out there, from this past 2 weeks.
