Anyone around 205# paddle an Outrage or Nitro and HAPPY

Post by dillonpro »

I paddled a Mohawk XL13 from 1994 til 2000 when I sold it. I only have C-1's now but would like to get back to occasionally paddling OC1. I got in a friends Mohawk XL 13 last week and I felt like I was in a barge. If anyone in the 200+ weight range has a OC1 which is fairly quick, dry, handles class 3-4 water and eddies well I sure would like to hear about it. I'm hoping maybe the MR Outrage or the Esquif Nitro will fit the bill but I'm open to suggestions.
Thanks,
Larry

Outrage

Post by TommyC1 »

Larry, I'm 195 and I'm quite happy with my Outrage, but, if you don't mind the extra foot you might like the Outrage X better. I'm told it's dryer.
My limited experience in a Nitro was not great. Mostly it felt like a beach ball, slow and hard to lock onto a carve. I realy like the Detonator but it's even smaller than an Outrage so I doubt it would be dry for a big guy.
If you can find one I know a few folks who realy like the Dagger Caption too.

Outrage

:D I am about 210 to 220 # and I paddle an Outrage. Paddle it on class 3 and 4 and very happy with it. This is my third used Outrage.
