I designed an open squirt canoe around 1984. The first part of the move worked - the squirt. The second part - keeping water out, didn't. There's a lot of room for improvement on that design. I nicknamed it the "Pivotcruiser".

For me; boating brings me closer to to something divine, and in a open canoe I'm 8 Inches closer.

Back to my sit on top squirt suggestion... I've been thinking about it and can't see why it wouldn't work (but I'm not enlightened in the art of Squirting... just toyed with it a bit). Cut back the cockpit on a K1 squirt to open up the sitting area and then close off the ends and reinforce the middle then create a seat and strap system on the now flat area that was the tiny cockpit... could even glass in a place for each lower leg to sit in when kneeling so that the CG would stay as low as possible... Could this work? Tempted to shop for an old squirt K1 to try it on if I'm not missing something, which I probably am. Ok, taking the tinfoil thinking cap off.
