60" Mitchell - Wood Shaft, Carbon Blade

Post by oopsiflipped »

Needs aluminum tip redone. Not really usable as is. When I called Mitchell I was told $40 + shipping to refurbish. I also talk to them about cutting it down. I think you could get the blade chopped an inch or two if you wanted and maybe even the shaft cut down as well for another $25 or so.

I'm open to cash offers, but mostly looking to trade. Would like a breakdown paddle, but am open to other offers as well. Shipping on this paddle would get spendy as it is over the USPS oversize cutoff. So local would be best, or if you are planning on getting it fixed, having me ship it directly to Mitchell would save you $25 or so over me sending it to you first and then you shipping it to Mitchell.

Fed Ex ground great for shipping paddles cheapley

Post by tompaksea »

Fed Ex charges a fortune for 1 pc ww paddle, and USPS has a hang-up about canoe paddles and 2 pc sea kayak paddles, the best rates for shipping canoe paddles and 2 piece sea kayak paddles are found with fed Ex ground.

I recently had Mitchell repair a similar paddle for the same reason--I had lost the aluminum tip and shattered the tip of the blade before I knew it. The repair they did seems bomber so far. It cost me $25 to ship it to them, but they charged only $15 to ship it back.

I shipped 3 canoe paddles in one 60" box via USPS for $21, insured to $300 plus delivery confirmation.

like i said, $25 or so to ship. 3 paddles or one, you're paying for the length for the box. anyone want this thing? i guess if i ever get an open boat again it would be good, but with my c1 seat under 4" it was pretty silly to try and use it, even with my ridiculously disproportionate torso...

I'm interested in the paddle, but what are you asking before the shipping and repair?

not asking, just taking offers. i think they are only about 230 new. it'd be kinda silly shipping it back to maine, since that's where it was when i swapped for it. are you tn bound anytime soon?

ideally i'd like to swap for a dagger saddle in good shape or a good sized piece of minicell and or some straps or airplane buckles. or maybe a lard breed pig or a good milk goat.

I'll be down in march. Can't say I have a goat or a lard pig to trade, but if you still have the paddle when I come down I can bring some minicell or something. If you find someone closer who wants it, take the money (or pig) and run.
