Squirt trim?

I need to make a new seat for my Acrobat. Any suggestions as to how I should trim the boat? Even with the stern tip in the water I can bow stall on flatwater . Sitting way forward I can still stern squirt . I'm thinking forward is good, since that makes it easier to get my feet out .

Go a little stern-heavy or you'll have a real hard time paddling in moving water due to numerous unintentional bow stalls . As you're sitting I like the far bow just above water and the stern tip 2-4" below, depending on cut. Jim Snyder goes into a bit of detail on these points in The Squirt Book...if you don't have a copy yet it's definitely worth picking up, even if it does have all those two-bladers in it .

That far stern heavy? That would help keep the bow up though & make it easier to paddle. My boat is a 1/2" cut. I'll play with it some this afternoon.

I have Squirt Boating & Beyond. I'll have to pick up The Squirt Book.

Squirt Boating and Beyond is the updated edition of the Squirt Book...so it should be in there too.

If you're going to mystery you may want to be more balanced....just remember to have much speed when you need it the bow needs to break the surface.... If it is ON the surface when the stern is level that's OK, in other words....

Have fun with the trial and error of it all . I've been putting the seat in, then using different sized blocks of foam "behind" me (between me and the cockpit rim) to figure out the trim. If you find a better way let me know!!
