C1 Riot Inferno 54 Conversion

Post by DJScott »

Looking for a winter project and thinking of converting my old Riot Inferno 54 into a C1. It just sits around as my loaner boat begging to be used.

This is my first conversion and I am playing with the idea of a fence rail conversion with a bulkhead.

Has anyone tried to convert this boat (slash hints/tips/ or trix)?

Thanks in advance.

Hey man, I think the Riot inferno would be a great C1... just watch the cockpit size. I know a lot of those Riots have smaller cockpits, which can make jamming your legs in there in the kneeling position more challenging. There is some beta on this site on how to wider the cockpit area if you need. I think the seat-rail conversion is a great way to convert and will allow you to tweak the attachment point for the straps and forgo a bulkhead. I don't use a bulkhead in my playboats (others will argue).

You know you can call me anytime if you have questions, if you don't have my cell, message me offline or on FB. Whatever issues come up on your conversion, I've probably had them too.

Good to have a C-boating friend in los Pocanos. Message me when you're ready to work on your roll too man. If you don't have pool space, I have a buddy who runs some pool sessions near you at one of the resorts, I could bring you up there sometime. I also have a converted Dagger Gradient creek boat, you're welcome to try out and use whenever you want. It has a fence rail. And well, you can borrow any of my boats anytime, if you want to try out an OC on the Lehigh or Brodhead or something.

I was just looking at my Inferno 54 K1 in my garage next to my Project 62. It looks like the Inferno's cockpit is just a bit shorter than the Project's, but about the same width.
