Hudson Derby Results are in!

Post by Sir Adam »

Well, it was another good Derby year for me:
1st in C2 Slalom
2nd in C1 Slalom (Alden Bird came in first...after penalities he beat me by 8 seconds with a winning time of 11 minutes 29 seconds! NICE JOB ALDEN!

I'll also point out that our times were in the top 5 single-person entries as well (my C2 time was faster...).

1st C1 Downriver (Ok, I was the ONLY ONE. C'mon folks! If you show up you get a nice trophy!). Not a great time, but the wind was a beast, and for the second time in my long derby history I had a little swim :o . Yes, I DO need to keep working on my Ace III outfitting...and repair  .

I hope to see a few more folks there next year at the 48th annual Hudson River Whitewater Derby...Alden and I need some more competition!
Keep the C!

Great race Adam. definitely quite a unique slalom, felt a bit more like a downriver race in inch deep water -- with lots of different gates that you might or might not need to go through!

I definitely got a little lost at the bottom and ended up doing both gate 19s (hey, better safe than sorry!) but I made it to the finish line and we definitely got our money's worth. Good showing for the c-1s!

Adam, come join Pat and me for a NESS race sometime!

30 secs of penalties -- man! i dont remember that! (reminds me of the time I tried to race open boat.) I think those gate judges were drinking some North Creek Ale or something!
