rolling a spanish fly

Post by Stephen »

Anybody got advice on rolling a spanish fly? I have rolled a kayak, but am not sure of the motion with a single blade.

Thanks

Rolling Instruction

Stephen,

If you have not done so yet, try using this site's search function. Past posts contain volumes on rolling technique, including some videos that should put you on the right path.

The roll that may cross over best for you is a reverse sweeping back deck roll. That's alot to type, but with a solid hip snap, it's the same back deck roll you may have in your kayak only with the added reach and leverage of a C paddle.

When switching recently to kayaking, I found that roll most transferable (though I keep whacking myself with the other paddle blade).

Hope this helps.
