Where can I get a foam bulkhead for my Prelude? Does Esquif

Post by roaring-riverman »

sell one at a reasonable price? I know Bob Britt makes custom ones too. Bob, what is the price on those? If I try to make one by adding foam to one of those big rectangular saddles, is it fairly easy to accomplish?

much obliged,
Spence

you saw the outfitting in the superfly didn't you. very simple to do. I would much rather have one of Bob Britts Saddles though.

Bob Britt's saddles have an awesome water tunnel / pump mounting location between the knees.... and lots of other well thought out improvements. He does excellent work!

$300 might sound like a lot of money (to this skinflint it does ;-) until you price a bun or so of minicell (and shipping on the minicell), access to a band saw, lost brain cells due to ADHESIVE inhalation, the value of your time, trial and error to get it right (possible wasted minicell, not to mention time) etc... Then it starts to sound like a bargain...

If you have facebook. Bob Britt has an extensive gallery of outfitting projects. It would also serve a good guide for the "do-it-yourselfer."

I d buy a saddle from Bob. They look great.

I have a Appolossa Beluga bulkhead I'm no longer using. I'd sell it but I live in Ontario but shipping would definitely be cost prohibitive!

Ian,

I live down the street in Kitchener. I think we may have met last summer on the Gorge (you paddle a fly?). PM me and we can discuss.

Doug.
