the whole history of boat building (and not just canoeing) is to take what's been done (available - works - or doesn't) and alter it .... there are whole books on lofting .... there's even classes on such taught for naval architecture, which usually starts by saying it's best to take something that works and change it ... Kris never said he designed anything from the ground up, but readily admitted to perfecting someone else's design ... it's common knowledge on most boat building forums and the most usual caution (or advise) is while making it your own it's best to make minute changes a little at a time
maybe I missed something ... would you care to elaborate or inform me of something wrong or amiss ? ((and no I've never copied one, but I have lofted a station or two - in order to get something to change))

When I cut two boats is half and put them in my house together is it home made, I redesigns the bottom and make it smaller 66 cm. I want to make a PE boat for childeren and people that are 150 cm big and can't carry a boat from 27 kg. Sorry I didn't wone take someone else his design, so I refrom it, I won't discus it furder, but when Buell take the motor from Harley Davidson they cal it a Buell and not a Harley. Regards Kris
