bolt-in d-rings

hey folks, any idea where I can get some bolt-in d-rings for 2" webbing? someone was telling me that 3M used to make these plastic pieces with d-rings in them which could be drilled and bolted in, but I can't find them on 3M's website and there's nothing on mohawk's online store either (this is for a C1 so I can's use those glue-in vinyl d-ring pads) Thanks!

I make my own with 2"tubular webbing, D-rings, an awl, and a propane torch. Take the webbing, cut it to length, melt the edges, and assemble it with the D-ring in place. Then I clamp the assembly in a vice with the webbing that needs the hole in it exposed (3 or more thicknesses), I heat the awl with the torch, then poke it through until a hole is made that is the same diameter as my bolt (usually 1/4"). This might take more than one heating/poking cycle. I assemble it before melting the hole because the layers of webbing end up being fused together at the hole. When bolting into a boat, I use fender washers on the inside. For the bolt, depending on where it will be and what I have available, I might use an oval head with a finish washer or a truss head (kind typically used by the boat manufactures - low and wide head).

I don't have a torch, but I've got a soldering iron and I imagine that gets hot enough to melt through the webbing any my school's outdoor club has a vice kickin' around somewhere...thanks for the tip!
