I'm a huge fan of the latex divers dry-gloves. I buy the extra large size and wear wool gloves inside. The down size of the latex gloves is that they can get holes in them from thorns, etc.

We've dealt with this issue by aqua-sealing latex cuffs onto industrial rubber gloves. They're tougher than latex. You can add whatever fleece gloves inside as you wish for warmth. PM me for pix.

I've seen a company in the UK which makes those as a stock item, with an unlined and fleece lined option

They look a little ungainly for paddling, but for things like rope handling or working in the water they'd be the bomb.
