Sea Freight shipping from Europe (Poland)

Post by Boise Bob »

I am looking for a way to get 3 C1 boats shipped from Poland to either Seattle, WA or Portland, OR. I'm told that Sea Freight is the way to go. Anyone have any freight carriers they could recommend or knowledge to share?

Bob,
I use Roadway International. Try calling 1-880-762-3929. Package all 3 boats in a lighweight wooden crate.

Wheelboys?

Post by Sir Adam »

If those are from Marko let me know...I've been contacting him as well and may be interested in tossing in 2 more boats if it's cheaper for all of us (and you'd be willing to ship them to me via forward air or something (I suspect we could work something out).

Adam,

Yes, this is from Marko. I'd be willing to try and work something out.

The three participants are in the Pac NW (Boise, ID; Seattle area, and Northern CA). I see you are in Adirondacks, NY.

Is there anyone else located in USA putting cash money on a WheelBoy now?

If we can get a whole boat-load of WheelBoy's (pun) shipped to the states, I could more cost effectively redistribute them within the US via carriers like ForwardAir.

If the price is reasonable, you can count me in as well. I'm in Oregon, so shipping to either Portland or Seattle would work great for me.

I remember seeing on a previous thread that the retail price (not including shipping) is going to be around $650 - is this accurate?

Mmm...Wheelboys...mmmm

I'm definitely in for 1 boat, and we can work out shipping from ID to NY (via Roadway? or Forward Air? I'll get it figured out if you let me know what city you're closest too (Boise I would think...but I don't want to assume!)).

Thank you for organizing this...I know it's not easy 8)

bus ??

Post by marko »

HI

I was just wondering if you have a busfreight option aviable. We have the BlueLine - busfreight service which is relly cheap compared any other shipping comp. They transport good pretty fast and they bill 24 € for any inside country distance for one kayak. The billing is only based on weight. I think items over 1,5 m are billed on doupleweight.

truck freight to door 68 € for same ....

WheelBoy shipping (update)

Post by Boise Bob »

All,

I've been in and out of town quite a bit lately -- sorry for the slow reply. I am having a real hard time getting anyone to call me back with sea freight costs. Both Roadway and DHL have been not too responsive. This has been a real frustration. I will call DHL again, but I've written Roadway off my list.

I will ask Marko for assistance. The number I've been asking for is 5 boats shipped sea freight to Seattle, WA.

The whitewater season is coming to a close here in Idaho, so my urgency has decreased a bit.

Bob-
I am actualy thinking of getting a couple-3 boats and re-selling to my buds....of coarse we still have no idea of the cost so we'll see.
Thank you for all your efforts in this. It sounds like a pain.

Marko-
Isn't this you're job? You've got at least 5 boats sold on the west coast if you can just ship them. 5 boats on the WEST coast. There are NO c-boaters out here!! I'm sure there could be many more sales in the states IF you wanted to SELL SOME BOATS! Quit surfing all day and GET TO WORK!!! ( I'm just jealous 'cause it's dry around here right now  )

Time to commit

Post by Boise Bob »

I’m finally getting somewhere with Marko on shipping WheelBoy’s to Seattle. I’ve been telling Marko 5 boats, but there maybe more added. It’s time to make actual purchase commitments.

Here is a list of people showing specific interest, their location, and the number of boats.

Quantity Name Location

1 Bob Kaiser Boise, ID
3 Larry Horne Northern CA
1 Randy Foster Olympia, WA
1 Oregon Matt Portland, OR
2 Sir Adam Adirondacks, NY

Yes, I know the above adds up to 8 boats, but I had to use something.

Randy, this assumes you are still interested in receiving the boats in Seattle and shipping them to specific individuals. Are you still interested and willing to take on this task?

Here is the e-mail I sent and received from Marko and Powel about shipping the WheelBoy.

----
Hi,
Please, have patience. You'll have your Wheelboys in Seattle by the end of next week! I just need some info from the shipping company and I should have them tomorrow!!! I will write to you then giving you details about payment, shipping, invoices, etc.
The boats are ready, we are just waiting in line at the airport.
Pawel Szydlowski
----

Once we know the overall boat cost, I would like to make a decision – buy or no-buy. If it’s a buy, lets get it done right away.

Please send your WheelBoy commitment directly to bkaiser@proclarity.com

Bring on the Wheelboys

Post by Cone Bone »

I’m still in for a Wheelboy, assuming the total price looks ok when they finally give us one!

Yes, I am willing to receive the boats near Seattle and ship them to others within the US.

Thanks for the legwork. Let me know if I can do anything to facilitate.
