Upper Blackwater C-1 footage

Post by Alden »

I had a lot of fun on my roadtrip south three weeks ago, getting to boat with lots of good friends and even some cboaters. Here's a headcam video I made from the trip, on a wonderful late February run of the Upper Blackwater, with Steve and Radley.

What a great C-1 river the Blackwater is!!

YEEEAAAAHHHHH! :D Great video, Alden. Love the use of Steely Dan music. Your run made the Upper Blackwater look like a smaller easier version of the Upper Yough. Cudos to your paddling skillz! At 8:30, was that your plan?

Are you racing at Charlotte in April? Hope to see you there.

I like the Pure a lot. I have the XL, but I think next time I'd go for the smaller one. It doesn't boof quite as easily as the Burn, but then again, I've had it for more than two months and haven't broken it yet, right? :D

Boating is fun,

Very nice indeed, Strongly reminicent of some of our local rivers only wider and longer, I'm very much envious.

I must admit personally wasn't a massive fan of the music and ended up setting it to "Save, Change and Exit" by Winstan instead, which actually left the video with a signficant sense of forboding.

The river looks so flat from your camera angle or something. Then you look upstream and you realize that you just ran a 6 foot drop. I like being able to see where you are picking your lines from. Great video.
