What is the best thing to use as thigh-strap anchors in a glass boat? My Viper had d-rings on plastic pads. One blew on the Gauley last weekend & I'm thinking of replacing both. I don't really like what was in there so I'm looking for suggestions. I'm using 2" wide straps. I want something that has little resistance to the strap feeding through so adjustments will be easy. It's got to be strong too.
Thanks

Hey Mike,
I used rectangleular shaped 2" stainless "rings" in my Viper, made the base out of glass by putting a couple twigs under some wax paper to make a mold glassed it over then cut it to fit the rings, inserted the rings and glassed it to the bottom of the boat. Seems to work real well and I don't think it'll ever come off. Let me know if you want me to send you a picture of it.

Hey Marshall, I wish that I had paid attention to your anchors. The seat was so comfortable that I didn't think much about the rest of it. I'd like to see pictures if you can send 'em.

Kevlar rope
One really sweet setup I've seen once was a piece of kevlar core rope where the ends were opened up and the kevlar fibers spread out and epoxied directly to the hull. Looks really nice and strong.
The center part is still a piece of rope, which makes it really easy to fit the straps through.
