Boatercross race in Richmond

Post by KNeal »

I'll throw this out now and revisit as the date gets closer. There is a boatercross race coming (again) to the James River in downtown Richmond, Va. on Saturday, May 19. I've done this event several times and am anticipating another return to beat up on kyackers. The event is part of Sportsbackers weekend-long Dominion Riverrock Festival--here is the link to all the activities:

http://www.dominionriverrock.com/

If you want to do the race and need a place to crash overnight, you're welcome here at our house. I can take you on a run down the rapids for anyone who wants to preview on Friday in the late morning and possibly in the afternoon (big maybe with that). So, let me know if you want to come down and race, stay overnight at my place, check out the river and rapids on Friday by posting here or PM'ing me.

There is a limit of how many boaters I can stuff in our house, but I'll take in up to 6 boaters.

To Mike W's disappointment, there will be no aerial ski jump event for boaters this year.

But there will be a freestyle event for you flippy dudes who know all kinds of ways to not keep your boat upright. 8)

No ramp this year is a real bummer. Except for the landings & a couple of weeks of pain afterwards, it was AWESOME!

But that's ok, Boatercross is pretty awesome too AND it doesn't hurt.

I'm registered for the boatercross this year. My goal is to not get munched by the hole

I like this one. It really shows what you can get away with doing to kyackers:

I am fellow richmond oc1/c1'er. I sadly cant host anyone but I'll go out and show you around when KNeal cant. I'll probably go out with his group anyhow.

Does anyone have a beat up viper or something they'd let me paddle otherwise I'll be in my atom.
