It doesn't matter if you care that you are, you're still commiting an abomination unto the river gods... :P

I just wanted to say, Smurf, you did great on that last post. We're all very proud.

i don't like noseplugs. i find i expect to flip when i wear them. and i hate panting and breathing only out of my mouth when i run whitewater, it makes me feel like a dog.

plus, regardless of what anybody thinks (myself included), it's cooler to boat without. not that it matters, of course.
ain't nothin but water, rocks, and gravity

No nose plugs for me.

I was a swimmer long ago and I really don't find that I need them in chlorinated pools much less rivers. I guess that there may be times that they would help but it is a 1/100-1000 thing and not worth dealing with for me.

Everyone is different, some are more likely to have trouble than others. I think that in general those with more time swimming (I could stay underwater for over three minutes and swim 200 feet underwater at on time) fair better but some of it is just anatomy.

Since you're the type of boater who doesn't care about people's thoughts on your gear/boats/personal appearance, then treat other fellow boaters the same way.

weraing noseplugs are kinda like expecting failure, betting against yourself...why not just portage? or better yet, walk out. you prolly shouldn't be runnin this one anyway.

same could be said for wearing a full face helmet..... or helmet at all..... But nose plugs arent a real piece of saftey gear per se just more of a comfort thing, or uncomfortable thing you put up with hoping you wont need afterall like overheating all day layered in neoprene "just in case" you swim. :)

gloves or no gloves? Pump or no pump?.... Just preference I dont look at the guys gear next to me and suggest he walks cause hes wearing elbow pads....

Just sayin

KNeal - i don't mean to hurt ppls feeewings and make them thaaaaad w/ i poke fun. I just tryin to add to entertainment and saying what needs to be said... just the same as most would have something to say if someone started using a kayak paddle in a canoe.

...and maybe....juuuuust maybe... I'll get a treat for a good post!

Here a good question - would people start wearing swimmies if you thought it would help your roll?
