Im sure this has been tried before and I don't possess the necessary skills or equipment but still I ask the question.... do you think its possible to chop and weld a wavesport x into a c-squirt?
I have a wavesport x sitting in my shed with no outfitting I paddled around with just a foam block under my arse and that thing is a slice machine.... I paid nothing for it and was wondering if I could experiment and learn to weld on it? or if that would just be a waste of time and effort

Some of them are crosslink, which isn't weldable.
the crosslink ones have logos like this:
Linear ones have logos in these locations:
Even if it's a linear boat, the chances of ruining it would be so high I'd recommend outfitting it as a c-1 and paddling it as-is.

If I remember correctly it has the crosslink markings so no dice......
Ive got my playboat c-1 already so I dont really need the beat up slicemachine hull to be runnable too bad thougt I could turn it into something fun to screw around in.
never see any c-squirts for sale either too much of a niche thing I assume.

Keep your eyes open. Acrobats tend to show up every now & then. They also show up on the Angst board.
Re: chopping a wavesport x
Do what Jeremy said with the X, then go find a XXX to try and squirt. They are even more slicey. I have seen a few that were left on the driveway on a hot summer day and then had the car backed onto the ends (one at a time of course) and left overnight to cool. They squash pretty nicely.
Re: chopping a wavesport x
Squash the crap out of it.
he only issue is the cockpit sizing ...it will be narrow and force you to sit higher.
Not sure where my old X ended up but Mick has the XXX (squashed) and Gumpy has the Foreskin (Foreplay - squashed).
All were a lot of fun.
Not true squirt but fun if you want to work the water hard. Go for it and enjoy! Working on a Zwo myself!

Re: chopping a wavesport x
What about cutting it in half and seaming it back with gflex and kevlar tape?
