Glueing PE??

I wouldn't know, but you could check their website...that's where I got the info on the 3M products from. Are you near the border? If you can't get the glue, but can tell me where I can get it from I could possibly ship it to you.

Thanks Matt, I will probably be able to source the glue here.
Just out of curiosity, The 3M website claims that there is no special surface threatment, apart from degreasing, needed for this Acrylic adhesive to Work. Do you know why not? Thought you might know, since your research is in that field.

I'm not sure, but from looking at the MSDS, there might either be a surface activating agent included in the mix, or else it's just got the right composition (I'm thinking hydrophobicity/hydrophilicity here) to interact suitably with a PE surface. I'm really not sure - I work in this area, but I'm no chemist (I think that's going to be the opening line of my thesis!)

That 2.5 min. worktime rings a bell; it was nasty in terms of one person getting everything into position in time, because there is a significant amount of pressure that needs to be put on the glued item for a 24 hr period while it sets up (I seem to recall 30 lbs. per sq. inch?), which for a D-ring isn't so bad, but I was installing a 4"X10" vinyl strip, so I had to seriously weight it down. It isn't easy to work with, did I mention that? But it seems to work, which I guess makes it worth it.........
Also, be sure that your outside temps are OK on the day that you install: in otherwords, ALL specs and requirements have to be stuck to.
