Can you still get the bow down OK? I've been thinking I need to increase the width of my backrest object to make that a bit easier..though it may effect those stern-squirts without a paddle a bit.

Here's another fun thing to try:

Sit in the groove. (in the water..)
reach you paddle over your head (think rafter "air brace") lean allll the way back (as far as you can) and hold it..you'll find your stern SINKS and you can go into your stern station without even a forward stroke, or movement .

Adam, yes, the bow is still easy to take under. Actually, when I first moved the seat, it seemed that bow squirts were easier to control once the bow was under. It seemed that I was on top of the boat a little more during a bow ender. Now it just seems the same as it was before the move. It might be just slightly harder to bury the bow now, but not enough to care about. Last night in the pool I was almost convinced that I was going to be able to take the bow down without a stroke. I will post if I actually learn to do it. Can you to that in your boat?

I moved my seatback position aft a fat inch from where it was, to around 4" from the back of the cockpit. It seems just right in the pool. I haven't made it to the river since the change, but I sure am looking forward to it.

Sorry about the bacteria. 30 lbs sounds like a lot. I trust you are taking antibiotics is large quantities.

Tell me more about staying upright in this boat. As a summer open boater, I think I have a tendancy to lean back too much in my c 1.
