Don,
Looking forward to your report on the Fink. I'm holding off on any further comments until others have checked in.

I recently loaned my FM to Paul Danks (winner of the C1 pre-world competition in Australia earlier this spring) for a few days to test it, and he did a few creek runs in it , the Gull river as well as the Oxtongue in Ontario when they were both pumping.
He was impressed by the boat, he liked the speed, how it punches holes, boofs and resurfaces after drops. He was ok with the initial stability and liked the secondary stability a lot.
He felt that the boat definitely wants to be paddled rather agressively and doesn't like a lazy floater in bigger and harder rapids.
I have since cut down the saddle by about 1 inch to increase primary stability a bit and moved the saddle another maybe 3/8 inch forward to imfurther improve the trim slightly, but I haven't paddled it since, so I don't know how those changes will affect the boat's performance.

Just another very quick post, I had a molar extracted today so I'm even less articulate than usual.

I enjoyed my first river paddle with the Fink, it even seems like it may be a very good boat for surfing as long as fancy rodeo tricks aren't on the program.

I lowered the seat and still trimmed the beavertails back a bit. It was still a tight squeeze to get in and when i rolled there was a bit of slippage. I'm planning on building the bulkhead up quite a bit, so that my knees are locked in better.

I may put more of a angle to the beavertails so I can twist in or out a bit but still be held snuggly.

Anyway, I enjoyed the boat in some very mild water. Playing in the one Cl. III I had a bit of a bobble crossing a squirrley eddyline and braced hard so I didn't get into my planned eddy. Probably I should have ignored the wobble and kept paddling, I'm sure there was lots of final stability left.

I'm heading up to Quebec this weekend, looks like we aren't going to do anything very hard but I'll at least have a good surf report from Donnaconna.
