Not many cboats in these parts anyway, canoes are very popular just not the whitewater variety for some reason.
Five of us on the Schroon Saturday, one Probe 14 (almost a long boat).
Four in the pouring rain and chilly temps. on the Hudson Sunday. It topped out at over 7' Sunday, most consider 3 minimum and when it starts to push 7, even the yakers think twice. Legend has it that one brave/crazy open boater did the Hudson Gorge at 10'!!
Unfortunately I didn't get to join the crew on the East and West Branches of the Sacandaga Tuesday, those are two of my favorite runs and the water level was perfect (settled down a bit from flood level on Sunday).
Only 3 cboaters that I know of, for the Schaghticoke Gorge yesterday. It was a weekday and the release was postponed from last week though, so some may have missed out. Weren't all that many yaks either.
Between talking about new boat designs and working on one, I expect to get out awhile tomorrow.
Should be lots of single blades at the West in Vermont this weekend too!
