For those who haven't paddled with me: I accept your challenge. Do I get extra points for first and most? What about fastest recovery? I think Swimming Mexican might be able to compete for distance travelled without boat. Micheal Phelps ain't got nothing on the junior members of the GDI.

It's going to be great, I can't wait.

Chuck - I probably won't be standing up anywhere on the Ocoee.

PLG - Look forward to paddling with someone else who doesn't fear the inevitable swim.

After talking to a few more experienced paddlers than myself, it looks like we're moving the Todhunter Swimming Extravaganza to Sunday 05/30, 11:00AM @ the put-in, as the upper will not be running.

Is everyone cool with that? GDI? Buehler?

Doesn't matter to me, I swim as well on sunday as I do saturday.

Si, si señor. Unless we get massive rain and I get outvoted by the GDI.

Well, if massive rain comes and the GDI does the Tellico, we may switch plans again and head up there with you guys.

mathew, is it that folks may want to run the upper, or are you concerned about a surge as the upper cuts off. just wondering, and i'll still be there.

Steve, people have said the surge from the upper running makes things even more pushier, and that my first time may be better on a day the upper is not running.

Well, according to http://www.boatingbeta.com/releases/all the upper is running both Saturday and Sunday, so I'm in for pushy water regardless. Still shooting for Sunday!

Don't worry Todd. One of my first trips on the Ocoee I swam just about every rapid that day and I survived to eagerly boat again another day. :D

Of course you'll do fine. I, on the other hand, wasn't in a lovable boat and was paddling above my skill level (which I still do, but I'm still having fun).
