Bruce and Larry,
You guys and a couple other cboaters on this site were the inspiration for me to outfit a barely used H3:255 last year as my first C1 and I am glad you did!
After learning the feel of a C1 and tweaking the outfitting on high water last season, I took some not so fun beatdowns, but I got much better quickly, I had too!
The only thing I do not like about the H3 is sometimes going through a funnel type drop with a bigger hole at the bottom that you have to hit, which is also not really set up as a boof, my H3 nose will bury and stop my momentum. I try to keep paddling forward, but sometimes the boat goes deep, water hits my chest and I have to brace until the boat resurfaces, sometimes flipping me. I have gotten much better at not submerging through stroke timing, hitting a seam, proper leaning or at least knowing how to handle it, when it does happen.
From your review in the other thread, it sounds like the Pure XL punchs holes much better. The volume, punching through holes, and the bomber plastic makes the Pure XL interesting to me for my next boat. Wildwasser in Boulder, CO is the US distributor of Prijon. I might see if there is anyway to get a deal on a demo or wait to find a used one. Thanks for sharing the information.
Don't bother me. I'm outfittting.
