Thanks everyone for the advice. It seems to me that the probe 12 for a prelude is not a good trade. The Viper 11 sounds very interesting but I've never seen one in Ontario. I have a line on a detonator and a L'edge now. I would like something that is able to creek but I think for the most part Ill be running rivers. Is the L'edge any good as a river runner, or the detonator for that matter. Of course this is all personal preference-but I'd like to hear- which do you prefer Detonator or L'edge?

ALSO:
I have found a Mohawk XL 11 for cheap which to me seems even more beginner than the probe. But I was thinking it may be a good beginner boat that I could buy and just keep my Prelude until I learn some basics. Is the Xl 11 worth it?
