Lots of good info in the posts above. A few side-notes:

1. If you've been paddling C-1, you'd probably like the Option better -- it feels a little more nimble than the L'Edge.

2. Your weight is part of the issue. For me, at 165#, the L'Edge felt like too much boat. The Option is a better match for me.

3. You CAN order an Option "Lite" -- although it's not generally mentioned. You can save a pound or three.

A pleasant dilemma -- good luck with your decision!

As an additional factor (don't ban me) in the decision making process is the "crack coefficient". The L'Edge Lite is much less prone to cracking than the original but it is still more crack prone than the Blackfly offerings.

Don't rule out a mill brook especially if you will be on those Maine rivers you mentioned. Blink for a short sporty canoe a Shacho for fast and nimble. Very light 25-30 lbs depending on outfitting. Tough and fast
