Play boat c-1 outfitting

I have a riot disco with absolutely no outfitting in it right now and i was wondering what was the best and lightest solution to stop oil-canning. If you have any answers just let me know.

oil caning

A center pillar (if you don't have one) or a plate roughly the the length o the cockpit and as wide as possible will help. I use a material call Syntrex, It is a ridig foam plasic sheet available in 1/8 and 1/4". Check you building suppliers or sign makers

Oill Canning
by Ejner
As a newbie C-1'er I left the bow centre pillar in my Foreplay from the kayak rigging and then I built a seat out of minicell foam but... I extended it back by six inches into the stern, past the cockpit. It was easy to do as I had to build a seat anyways. There doesn't seem to be any oil canning.
In the bow and stern I anchored both minicell foams with 2" aluminum channel (Home Depot) slotted into the foam and held by self tapping metal screws using the original factory holes.
To anchor Minicell I use a different product than most paddlers: it is Sikaflex 291 or Dupont 4200 in a caulking tube, used on sailboats as a gasket/adhesive/sealant. Definitely takes 24 hrs to cure but it is flexible when cured (similar to but not a silicone). It is very adhering to Royalex and Plastic but can be peeled off with strength, leaving no mess or damage, allowing adjusting of your work. I had to move the seat three times, another story. I've also used the Sikaflex to install panels in canoes and bulkheads.
