Hey Folks,
A bunch of us are gonna meet up at River Run this weekend for a totally informal Single Blade get-together... I am heading up Friday morning to get set up by mid-afternoon and then go for a late day run of the river...
Some paddlers from Quebec, Ontario and the U.S. are set to go. No set plans as to where to paddle yet...probably Ottawa Saturday, meeting at the OWL put in for 11:00 am, hopefully Rouge on Sunday (water levels are looking good!) and possibly Gatineau as well. Whatever strikes our fancy!
If you're looking for something to do, stop by River Run Friday night, Saturday morning or even Sunday...we will be camped there in the Paddler Meadow (upper campground)until Monday. Highlights:
*Andy Convery from Echo Paddles will be there Saturday with demo paddles and paddles for sale as well. Check out: www.echopaddles.com for some of his fantastic hand-crafted paddles!
*Martin from Shaggy Designs http://www.shaggydesigns.fsnet.co.uk/ has a couple C1 designs for people to try out (or buy!). Very cool looking boats!
*Trailhead Ottawa is giving us the Robson CU Fly to demo for the weekend for all you wave hogs and rodeo hotshots!
*Dan Elliott from Elliott Outfitting will be there later in the weekend (probably Monday) to show of his newest outfitting ideas.
*Also, there will be some boats for sale, other boats to demo, people to meet, gear to swap, lies to tell...
