RED MO RACE

Post by GEEK BOATER »

Hey folks I don't know how to put this on the events calendar, I'm lucky I know enough to use this forum, thats why I'm posting it here. March 26 is the 38th annual Red Mo downriver race. Yes it's the sat. before Easter this year, it's always the last sat. in march. It's an event that's more fun than serious although there's always a few very fast, sometimes olympic caliber, boaters. It's mostly open canoes but there's a class for everyone. Free camping and party on friday and sat. Also dinner and awards after the race on sat. at the local event hall. It really is a central Pennsylvania classic and a good time is had by all. It's put on by TUSSEY MOUNTAIN OUTFITTERS, you can contact Ed at TMO (814) 355- 5690 for more info. Also, there's plenty said about the race just search RED MO RACE. Hey don't forget your creek boat cause there's usually (water permitting) a great little class 3 creek we run on fri. & sun. called the BLACK MO. You probablly can't read that anywhere else. THANKS, and I hope to see you there.

I too am a regular at the Red Mo race, and I think most of you out there owe it to yourselves to experience this Pennsylvania classic. State College harbors a very active boating community, and a lot of beautiful creeks, like the Black Moshannon. Consider it a warm-up to the NB armada. Hope to see some of you there.
