Diesel conversion

Post by oregonmatt »

I got the chance to borrow a Diesel 75 conversion this morning. I think it was the best cruising C-1 i've paddled in years, including the finikymeister. Even better than the Atom for someone my size (210 lbs buck naked and dry). Very good primary stability, and rock solid secondary stability. Didn't need to keep my paddle in the water to be stable, which made cross strokes easy. Also, it felt fast for its length, and it tracked very well. Didn't roll quite as crisply as an Atom or Cascade, but rolled way better than the Fink.

I've always been a proponent of buying whatever c-1s are available in plastic to support manufacturers who are willing to make them. However, i wish someone could make a dedicated c-1 that paddled as well as this conversion.
