How do I make gel-coat slicker?

It's old & oxidized gel-coat. I've tried Maxi-Glide & it helps, but I'd like something that lasts longer. Any thoughts?

Try wet-sanding w/ 2000-grit sandpaper. If it's real bad you may have to use 1000-grit first.

Thanks for the help! Looks like I've got some sanding in my future :-? I think it'll be worth it though. It's only supposed to get up to 101 today :o , so this project is shelved till fall.

Yesterday was 105, but I'm way up here in the North. Tuesday we caught the spike. Flow went from 2,800cfs to 15,000 :D There's a wave at the top that I've been trying unsuccesully to catch for years  & Tuesday I caught it in the Sith :D It's even more amazing than I ever thought it could be :P The guys I was with said that I was on it for over 10 minutes 8) It's ~3' high, glassy w/ just enough of a foam pile to keep you from blowing off 8) The Sith makes a neat "ssssssssssszzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz" sound as you carve :P
