C1 boat recommendations for a former K1

Post by vonfonk »

Hello everyone,

I was hoping someone could recommend a good C1 boat for someone making the transition over from kayaking. I weigh about 235lbs and paddle a solid class III. Any thoughts?

Thanks

+1 Armada. It's pretty hard to find OC's to demo and much harder than that to find C-1s (depending on where you are) - especially in the "big guy" category. The armada will be one of the largest gathering of C-boaters in the east this year. The "Ain't Louie Fest" would be good, too - probably more open boaters, though :

As for a recommendation, depends on what you want to do - race? play? creek? general river running?

Thanks for the info. I am looking a playful river runner if possible. I'd love to demo boats but decked canoes seemed hard to come by. Which I'm kinda surprised about here in Colorado.
