WTB: C1 slalom boat - galasport or otherwise

Any Boat, Gear, or outdoor related item you have for sale. If you use it on a paddling trip, or to prepare for one, it's fair game.

WTB: C1 slalom boat - galasport or otherwise

Post by markzak »

I'm looking for a C1 slalom boat. PM me or email me if you have one available.

I would prefer to spend $500 or less. I am new to the slalom world, so anything you have that I can use to get my foot in the door would be great.

I live in New Jersey and could pick the boat up anywhere within 8 hours.

Thanks, Mark mark(at)njhighlandscoalition(dot)org

At $500 or less you are probably talking about a used 4-meter boat (prior to the reduction in length regulations to 3.5 meters in 2005).

Other than posting on this board, which may yield some offers, you might contact Davey or Jennifer Hearn at www.daveyhearn.com ; they sometimes have used slalom boats for sale on consignment.

If don't get any nibbles from those sources, you might consider asking around at some slalom races this fall. The Nationals on the ASCI course at McHenry, MD on Aug. 30 or perhaps some of the Penn Cup or NESS races mid-Aug. through mid-October might be places to pick-up a used boat. A listing of dates for these races and links to race info can also be found on Davey Hearn's web site (URL listed above).

Thanks John! I am perfectly happy with an older 4m boat, especially if it means I can get a better deal.

Again, I am new to the sport of slalom so anything anbody has to get me started would be great!

I think you'll find that the URL in Kaz's post doesn't quite get you there. You need to drop the "www" and use the following instead:
