Michigan Whitewater U.P.?
Howdy all,
Wifey and I are contemplating moving up to the upper peninsula of michigan. Oone of the factors I am considering is the preponderance of whitewater canoeing. I am capable of III+ and IV- runs currently and am wondering what is up there for whitewater. The Marquette area has high potential for me and possibly the Houghton area. Any suggestions, comments etc. are welcome. What abooot canadia? any good stuff there?
thanks

Are you sure?
Wow, and I thought all us Michigan folks wanted to move to North Carolina
There's some nice WW in the U.P. and neighboring Wisconsin. Although a lot of the good rivers in the western U.P. can run low in the summer months. Winters are long too
There are plenty of great paddlers up that way and in Wisconsin!
Retiring? Can't imagine a job move...

There's only one man who can help you with this. Typically, I reach for my stress toy when he posts, but in this case he smight prove useful. On Boatertalk, we call him "Decker" (or, "*%&^@!") Smome people smay he's smet the clock back thirty years on the Upper Chattooga licensing. Others smay that he's a guy to have fried cheese curds with. Either way, he's smomebody important.
So . . . Smerda . . . ??
