I've been searching for a used boat for an intermidiate bigger guy and I've found a Mad River Fantasy relatively affordable. I can't find a lot of info on it, anyone know about the boat?

Danny,
Danny,
The Mad River Fantasy was the next generation of the Mad River Flashback. The Fantasy came out in the mid-90s, The Flashback late 80s. Real similar hull design, The Fantasy may have had slightly larger volume-not sure.
Needless to say, both boats are very low volume compared to today's open canoes. I paddled a Flashback for many years. It is a very technique sensitive boat, and I'm sure the Fantasy was the same.
I don't think it would be a good boat for a big person. I'm 5'10", but only weigh 130 pounds, and I was good fit. My husband at 6'1", 170 pounds, was too big for it. It was a great boat to start out my then 12 year old son in. Currently, it is being used by an 11 year old boy of friends.
I hope this helps with your decision about what to do.
Happy paddling,
Carol

I learned that the ME was following the flashback from this article:
http://www.amc-ny.org/recreational-acti ... 03_may.pdf (page 6f)
As I was told the Fantasy was the following boat to the ME (but I may be wrong and know too little about this boat. -
Anyone here who can add some information?). The ME as a solo-
or tandem boat might be the right choice for a bigger person (read this thread:

Being of avarage size I feel pretty fine in my Fantasy. Additionally I use a Dagger Phantom for the steeper stuff. The Phantom is meant for smaller people but I have addapted by and by to that tiny boat. I am quite sure that the Fantasy fits even slightly larger persons.
