camping for ALF
Who all is planning on camping at Soaring Eagle for ALF? If not where at?
I wouldn't pay too much attention to the no drinkin at the crosseye cricket, you might have to put it in a cup but I don't think they are goin to check your cooler. Now if you are one of the buttboater type who drink fufu beer and need to keep it in it original bottle to impress people you may have a problem, of course that Jackson Buttboat are sponsered by Budweiser that may not be such an issue.
Melton hill is a TVA camp ground no wi-fi and I'm sure you'd need a cup there to. It's a nice camp ground though right on the Clinch river. This would probably get my vote, the problem is I'm not 100% sure it will be open in time it usually open the 2nd weekend in March but they don't decide until the last minute.gumpy wrote:roaring eagle too noisey
crosseye cricket no alcohol no wifi
sweetwater yes wifi yes alcohol
melton???????
The only problem with Sweetwater is it's not as centrally located.
Camping at ALF
So despite all this pleasant Southern banter, it still does not appear that there's a consensus as to which is the best campsite for us to congregate.
Could someone maybe (who is computer savvy) set up a poll.
Would be nice to know where to head after a 13 hr drive from Canada.
Thanks
Geoff

I vote for Sweetwater ... 20 miles is nothing compared to the 900 miles I will be driving to get there.
I know there will be a Canuck contingent of about 10 from Kingston, ON there.
Louie never really did say how big his house or back yard was plus 60 people sharing one bathroom at his place would not work that well

ALF accommodations
Louie was kind enough to let me "sleep" on his floor at my last ALF. Don't know what kept me awake more, Louie's fish tank of Scriver's snoring.
Speaking of snoring, Colin; what State are you camping in?

It opened March 13 last year.
This is where I will probably be staying if it's opened.

Just spoke with the TVA. They're not opening the Melton Hill Dam campgrounds until March 19.
