I called this lady (919 522-3104). The paddles are actually 52 and 55 inches long. All wood, used a few times, $225 each new, curved blade, palm grip. Her husband has passed away and she'd like to sell the paddles. She wants $90 each.

She seems to be quoting the shaft length

which is actually a more important measurement than overall length. Too short for me, I like a 37. :(

These are flat water paddles but sound like they might me suitable for some whitewater duty. I wish she had pictures of the grips...

Hard to tell

from the pics, but they might be bentshafts. If not, they might have a standard T-grip. Beef it up with another layer of glass and it might work.

I called yesterday - custom made, straight shft, spoon billed, resin(?) edging, "palm grips". About $30 to ship. Kinda thinking about 'em - would have pulled the trigger for sure if they were whitewater sticks.

Lemme know if you want 'em and need to avoid the shipping. I'll be in Raleigh soon to see my buddies' new baby. I could pick 'em up and deliver them to a river near you for the promise of some cold, bottled, barley soup.
