Hey guys,

I was very luck to paddle and film down in Costa Rica this winter, paddling with Jim Coffey from Esprit, as well as a great group of friends including Eli Helbert, Jeremy Laucks, Richard Guin, and C-Boats own Sir Adam. This is the video, now the latest episode of Cross Strokin'. Canoe & Kayak was so kind to premiere the video on their site, so I hope you guys enjoy it!

Awesome video Cheeks! ... but for the real thing... you need to paddle in Costa Rica in person.

We will have trips running starting every Saturday to Saturday Nov. through Feb.

We hope you join us!

There are a number of good outfits out there... but for a socially and environmentally conscious outfit that specifically caters to cboaters you can't beat Esprit. I'm glad I finally went and found it a great trip and a great value for what you get.

Thanks for the support guys, glad everyone enjoyed it!

And I second Adam's thoughts on Esprit, really a great operation!

Great video, Chris - but not nearly enough carnage...

give the people what they want!

Yeah, I know. Everyone wants to see me swim. Sorry folks, only happened once... and not on camera:)

There IS a good image floating around somewhere of my father hanging out in the middle of the river just behind a rather pinned ducky he had been in shortly before that :-?

That will teach him not to be in a hard boat

True, but then a lot of you were pushing things a bit more than I was.

I admit after a week in an open boat I can see some of the allure (in and out was certainly easy), in part as I'm used to paddling pointy low volume boats that behave totally differently.

I should have spent some time back to back in the Big Dog as well as the Option though.... and I think my only regret from the trip was not convincing my dad to hop in the Octane 92 for a bit....
