Paddle Canada Moving Water:
Advanced Tandem/ Solo Skills Course
Date: June 1-2, 2013 (2 days)
Where: Highwood, Sheep or Elbow or Red Deer Rivers (water level depending)
The successful Moving Water Advanced Tandem or Solo Skills candidate is considered a soild whitewater river canoeist, capable of performing advanced shore and water-based river rescues, including self-rescue. The candidate is able to perform advanced whitewater river maneuvers with proficiency in Class III rapids.
Prerequisite: Paddle Canada Moving Water Intermediate Tandem or Solo Skills or ability to perform eddy turns in technical class II rapids.

Course Fees: $180.00
Accommodation and Food: We will be camping at rustic campsites (no power), location dependent upon water levels. Participants will be responsible for providing their own food and shelter.
Equipment: Participants are expected to supply own boats and safety equipment. Canoes must be equipped with floatation.

About the Instructor: Ryan Lemphers
Ryan Lemphers has been teaching paddling on rivers and lakes in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario since 1997. He has experience teaching youth and adults, with many years working in summer camp out-tripping settings. Ryan is a Paddle Canada Advanced Tandem Moving Water Instructor Trainer and an Instructor Trainer for all Paddle Alberta Courses. In addition, he is a certificated teacher in Southern Alberta. Ryan specializes in teaching finesse and efficiency through the MITH (Momentum, Initiation, Tilt and Hold) methodology.
