I have a Jackson 4fun k1 that I'm thinking of converting. I'm 200lbs and the max recommended kayak weight is 220lbs. Is this too close to the top weight range for a conversion. I've been mainly paddling a score c1 this season and was 220lbs at the start of the season. Im curious to see how a more modern c1 river play boat handles.
Also I've been trying to learn how to flat water cartwheel in the score as well as various other flatwater stuff and was wondering if converting the 4fun just to practice flatwater moves would be worth it/easier than score.

I had a 07 superstar as a c1- it looks pretty similar to the 2010 4fun. It was a pretty good c1. Can't comment on how easy or difficult flat water cartwheels are since I can't do them.

What did you weigh when you were paddling the Superstar?

Just an update for anyone searching the forum for info on a 4fun conversion:
I outfitted my 2010 3rd gen 4FUN and took it out for its first paddle today. I only have previous experience in C1's with a Liquid Logic Airhead and a Wavesport Score. I paddle a L'edge as an open boat. I hated the Airhead and the Score I have been paddling all this year and have been absolutely loving it.
The 4FUN at 200lbs and 6'4" has rock solid primary stability and incredible secondary as well. I have been spending the summer trying to learn how to flatwater cartwheel in my Score and with a lot of effort have been getting pretty close. Today in the 4Fun with much less effort I was closer than I have ever been. I had to stop trying to cartwheel because my outfitting was loosening as the quick release I installed was not of very good quality. The 4 Fun is just ever so slightly slower than the Score but because of the stability I felt more comfortable really digging in while paddling which made my effective speed about the same. The 4FUN rolls very easily. The hull is less edgy than the Score's hull which was great for getting past a messy eddy-line and on to a wave. Once on the wave there is plenty of edge to carve. However, because of the softer edge I found the 4FUN was sliding off line when "running" the river.
With less than a year of experience in C1 take my review with a grain of salt. But if you're looking for a boat to introduce you to C1 with River Running and Play characteristics the 4FUN is a great choice.
