Re: Esprit Mexico Update

I've signed up for both weeks in Jalcomulco and am so excited I can't sit still!

There's still room left so cancel your ski trips and get in touch with Esprit.

Re: OC1 HATE??? WHAT THE?....

I can vouch for Kev's response - Trailhead Paddle Shack is definitely a canoe friendly store and carries on the traditions that Wally Schaber and Chris Harris started long ago. http://www.trailhead.ca/history Also the offending staff member is a good friend of mine who puts up with my open-boating w...

Re: Ode to the Esquif L'Edge

thanks! My approach to that eddy could have been a little bit better but I made it work in the end. I love catching improbable, or overlooked eddies. One of my favourite things to do in a canoe.

Ode to the Esquif L'Edge

After a season in the Esquif L'Edge I must say "I'm in love, love, love!." Footage is from the Upper Black River (ON), the Dumoine River (QC), the Twin Falls section of the Grass (NY), and the Sluice Falls section of the Oswegatchie (NY). Watch it full screen in 720p HD: http://www.youtube.com/watch...

Hi Doug,

We ran the whole thing from top to bottom. The video shows the main big drop - in the video it's scene where we've set live bait. When I first gave it a good look I realized that it wasn't as big as I had always thought it to be.

I hope you had a great trip too!

I haven't paddle the Doe gorge so I can't compare. Dooley and Matt probably have though. They've been looking to do the Laurel Fork for a while now and all the conditions turned out to be just right: someone had been down it the day before and we heard that there wasn't any wood in play; it was sunn...

Laurel Fork of the Doe - OC1 video

Here's the latest of my ALF videos. This one is footage from the Laurel Fork of the Doe in TN. Paddlers are Matt DeVoe, Dooley Tombras, Mark Scriver, and myself. It was a very committed run that had me sweating a few times. Scouting was impossible for most rapids and Darwin's was a mandatory cV with...

Hi Yukon, These L'Edge grab handles that you've seen photos of were switched around at Louie's place during our late night ALF outfitting parties. It makes grabbing, dragging and lifting the boats much easier on the hands. Rope grab loops are a great addition too but if you're going to leave the met...

West Prong of the Little Pigeon - ALF video

Hey Cboats! I've just put our latest ALF video up on Vimeo. This one is of our run down the West Prong of the Little Pigeon in TN. link: http://vimeo.com/21368448 It's not all head cam footage this time. Wait 'til the very end for my luckiest moment of the day :) I still have footage from the Wataug...

hmmm not too sure what the level was... While the L'Edge certainly is a dry boat, it couldn't compensate for some occasional sloppy moves of mine that were edited out of the video ;) Boat dumping footage just didn't make the cut. btw: that blog post is now up at: http://markscriver.wordpress.com Joh...

Wilson Creek headcam footage

Hey everyone! Here's some Wilson Creek footage that I shot last Thursday. It was a very relaxing day on the river spent with Eli Helbert and Mark Scriver. I hope you all enjoy! http://vimeo.com/21260588 http://vimeo.com/21260060 These are my very first videos - let me know if anything's not to your ...
