Re: skid plats and plastic deck/gunnels on a rival
the skid plates were just glued on. There is a lot of excess glue. Thanks for the ideas about the bags and laces! I had not thought of that. Every ounce helps!

skid plats and plastic deck/gunnels on a rival
I was given a rival - royalex light. I am trying to see how I can lighten it (I am 5' and 105lb). My last royalex was a mad river outrage with wood gunnels and i was able to load/unload it by myself. Right now the rival feels much heavier. It has skid plates that appear to have been glued on. Can I ...

Sited... lime green black fly on I-35 in austin
I was driving south on I-35 sunday morning about 10:3-11 in austin and spotted a lime green black fly (looked like an octane) going north. I had a white 85 on my car. This is the first canoe i've seen since getting here. If you hang out on this site contact me. sar

open boaters in texas
I'm starting to make plans to relocate to Austin TX late summer- early fall. Per AW there is quite a bit of II-IV water. What about open boaters? I will paddle with kayakers if I'm forced to but... I'm also curious about the water. In PA and around its mostly drop pool. Anyone familiar with say lowe...

Re: what did you sell or buy this year?
I started out 2014 with intention to buy just 1 boat and being an ex-kayaker swore I would never go back to a skirt. Then got the slalom bug. Ended up doubling my fleet and am officially out of room (until I move) Shacho can't remember but it was worth every penny C-1 Gyramax $75 Hahn (that was made...

Re: Install toggle switch for pump bulkhead outfitting
Awesome. I have an Octane 92 that has double pumps and I've never been happy with the placement (each end of the saddle). Your design would be more efficient. Thanks!

Re: Slalom boat outfitting.
I had one of those skirts once and if I remember correctly Snapdragon has a link on their site to show video of how to put it on. Its a little different than the usual skirt but it was the driest skirt I ever used.

Install toggle switch for pump bulkhead outfitting
My 2 octanes have pumps and I'm currently in the process of installing them a little more permanently than duct tape and camo strap holding the pump. What suggestions can I get (outside of the obvious no pumps) to seat the toggle switch into the boat. Right now I have them taped in with duct tape in...

backlund paddle
I recently picked up a Backlund. The prior owner had put a metal piece on the end and I would like to remove it.
Is there a specific way to take the rivets out that won't damage the paddle?
Is there something I can use to fill the rivet holes?

Re: Black Fly
The octane 85 is worth the wait!!!!!
I sat in the 85 prototype for the first time in TN March 10, emailed jeremy March 17 to tell him I was his first customer for it. I got mine middle august. Worth every single day I waited for it.

patching royalex
What is the best choice for material for the outside patch on royalex? I have been talking to Sweet Composite and they have several different materials and by the time I finished reading their info page I was more lost then when I started.
