open boaters in texas

I'm starting to make plans to relocate to Austin TX late summer- early fall. Per AW there is quite a bit of II-IV water. What about open boaters? I will paddle with kayakers if I'm forced to but... I'm also curious about the water. In PA and around its mostly drop pool. Anyone familiar with say lower yough? What about the ocooe or the tellico? How would they compare?

There are some open boaters in TX, but not enough. So, we look forward to your move. I'm in Austin and know a few other open boaters in the area, some very, very good.

If in Austin, you will be lucky that you have a park-n-play spot 40 miles south. See this:

Runs year round, even in drought. Summers are hard due to tubbers, but about 8 months of the year, mostly boaters.

With rain, a number of fun runs in the area. Some mild class III. It is not the east coast or CO, by any means. Here is the best guide to the rivers and creeks of TX.
