BeavR-2

I recently purchased the BeavR-2 from Zelgear. It is a Russian style cataraft with inflated pedestals and thigh straps on the cataraft tubes. Having done a review on the boat on GDI a while back after running the Lower Yough the decision was made to tackle a more challenging creek. Last weekend the ...

Re: 1st Run in my Bell Outraged OC-1

The Outraged is a much nicer handling boat than the Outrage. It is also much drier. When placed side by side there are significant differences in the two boats as well. The Outraged was tweaked design wise over the Outrage. Tom Foster mentioned that the royalex had design limitations that the carbon...

Re: Kiddie boats

I don't know if it is possible but I think a boat in the mid 20 lbs range would be ideal. The splash seems to have appropriate dimensions. Realistically, a childs boat will be running class 1/2 for most of it's life with class 3 for the exceptional child. Currently I cut down a Motion Adventures Pre...

Re: Drysuit Delamination Repair

Well I received a pleasant surprise. I called Stohlquist this morning for assistance. Even though I did not send in my warranty card they are going to honor the product warranty on the drysuit. Yeah!!

Drysuit Delamination Repair

Being the dummy that I am I failed to turn in the warranty info after purchasing my drysuit two years ago. Since this invalidates the lifetime warranty on material defects the choices are to repair it myself or send it in for an unspecified period of time and pay the manufacturer to do it. There is ...

Re: Shacho reviews

I think John can answer questions about handling and weight range better than me but it appears that he isn't going to so I will give it my best try. To begin with it is not a round hull or a flat hull. Lets call it a semi displacemnt hull which has some of the characteristics of both. When initiall...

Re: Shacho reviews

My impressions of the Shacho for the inquiring minds who want to know. 1) Build quality is excellent. The finish is smooth and shiny on the exterior and very smooth on the interior. Very nice vacuum bagging. The boats all had a heavy duty layup. Extra kevlar layer in the bow and stern as well as the...

Re: Spark... love or not love....

I have an Inferno that was owned by Kaz. The seat height is just slighly over 7". The Inferno was based off the Igniter as was the Spark. Keep in mind that Kaz indicated that the Inferno is his "highest performing boat" as a reference for the seat height.

New C1 to me

It looks like I will become the new owner of a Noah Atlantis made by Vladimar Vanha. As explained to me it is a slalom boat. It has never been in the water and infact the cockpit rim has not been installed as of yet. So far I have not been able to find any pictures or information about this boat. An...

Re: Shoreline (walmart) pump...

I have an Atwood 1200 and an Atwood 1250 as a dual pumpnsystem in my boat. The exit ports are colocated. The 1250 shoots the water about 2' farther away from the boat than the 1200 when the system is turned on. I have no idea how much more effective it is in real terms.

Re: The "Shacho"

If I drive over 7 hours to demo the Shacho is there any way I can convince you to run the dryway? 8)
