Drysuit Delamination Repair
Being the dummy that I am I failed to turn in the warranty info after purchasing my drysuit two years ago. Since this invalidates the lifetime warranty on material defects the choices are to repair it myself or send it in for an unspecified period of time and pay the manufacturer to do it. There is currently minor seepage of water around the armpits due to delamination of the inner layer of material which looks like a screen. It is my intent to rebond and seal the material. Area that needs repair is a few inches wide by ten inches near each armpit. I had heard that you can make a slurry with silicon and another chemical as a possible solution. Is anyone aware of the mix or of a better solution? I realize that this type of repair wil no longer be breathable but I feel that is better than water seepage.

Personally, I'd send that to the professionals--back to the manufacturer. Who knows, maybe they will honor the warranty. If not, that's a large area to repair and it would be better done and the repair would be longer lasting if they did it. What's more, under the armpits is one area that you definitely want breathable.

Well I received a pleasant surprise. I called Stohlquist this morning for assistance. Even though I did not send in my warranty card they are going to honor the product warranty on the drysuit. Yeah!!
